ASTM A106 (ASME SA-106) covers seamless carbon steel pipe for high-temperature service in Grades A, B and C. Grade B is the usual choice for process piping, and many mills certify it together with ASTM A53 Grade B and API 5L Grade B. Sizes follow ASME B36.10M. Pipe is supplied to order with mill test certificates to EN 10204 3.1.

Documents
Mill test certificate to EN 10204 3.1, naming the producing mill and the country of origin. Third-party inspection by an agency you nominate, or EN 10204 3.2, on request.
Packing and marking
Hexagonal bundles with steel straps, plastic end caps, a bundle tag (standard, size, heat number, pieces, weight) and stencil marking on each pipe.

A106 or A53?
ASTM A106 is seamless only and is written for high-temperature service. ASTM A53 also covers welded pipe, so for seamless A53 specify Type S. Dual-certified pipe (A106 Grade B / A53 Grade B / API 5L Grade B) is common and simplifies stocking.
